We have a position in our Monmouth Junction, NJ offices for a Sr Manager, Commercial Leadership and Development (CL&D).

Job Summary:

The Sr Manager, Commercial Leadership and Development (CL&D) is responsible for developing and implementing high-impact sales and product training programs for the Commercial team. Collaborating closely with Commercial Senior Leadership (i.e., National Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), etc.) she/he serves as an internal resource and training and development Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the field sales force, Regional Field Trainers (RFTs) and cross functional partners (i.e., Marketing, Sales Operations, Market Access, etc.) to support implementation of strategic vision/plans for sales training and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design and delivery of commercial training programs focused on improving selling techniques and fostering strong customer-focused relationships; Educates and supports field personnel on product knowledge, therapeutic areas and account management to improve effectiveness in customer interactions
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams (i.e., Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Medical, etc.) to ensure training materials are aligned with product strategies and organization needs
  • Develops and maintains core training modules covering disease state, product knowledge and selling skills to ensure training programs address evolving needs of the commercial teams including, but not limited to: Sales, Sales Leadership, Market Access, etc.)
  • Manages relationships with external training vendors, oversees training project timelines and ensures high-quality of training and development programs: Supports preparation of key National and Point of Action (POA) meetings
  • Continuously assesses training and development needs among field-based personnel and makes recommendations for change and/or enhancement; Collaborates with RSMs to coach and mentor both underperforming and high potential representatives to increased performance
  • Collaborates with, and when appropriate, manages outside vendors and cross-functional teams to assist in development, evaluation and implementation of new training curriculum
  • Facilitates new hire and advanced selling skills workshops at the home office and during POA/Area/National Sales Meetings
  • Develops training material to roll-out implementation of new selling pieces; Analyzes and improves training approach and materials on an ongoing basis ensuring high quality presentations and impact by sales representatives
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree and minimum 7 years sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (minimum 3 of those years with field sales training and/or regional/district sales training responsibility)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement key learning objectives and adult learning strategies and tactics
  • Strong business analytics to understand and analyze business and market drivers, develop, execute and adjust business plans
  • Excellent presentation skills and a proven track record of delivering successful pharmaceutical sales training and presentations
  • Experience participating in Leadership Development training initiatives (i.e., performance management, succession planning, organizational development, identifying future leaders, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (i.e., Axonify, MasterControl, etc.) and sales data/call reporting software
  • Ability to influence without direct authority

Travel requirements

Approximately 20%

Work Arrangements: We are a HYBRID work environment requiring local candidates to be able to work majority of week in office.

Anticipated salary range: $120-160K/yr. Base salary offered is contingent on assessment of candidate’s education and experience level relative to requirements of the position and a review of related industry standards and internal equity.

Additional benefits: In addition to base salary, full-time employees are also eligible for incentives, including, but not limited to: bonus eligible, LTI, medical, dental, vision, Rx insurance, 401K with match, life insurance, paid Company Holidays, PTO, Paid Volunteer Time and Employee Resource Groups.
