Position Overview:
An experienced digital content developer, ideally within the medical education field, who will lead content development for Convatec’s digital medical education platform for healthcare professionals. The role will execute the business unit strategy for Convatec’s digital medical education platform, by ensuring content is developed and delivered to plan. The Global Medical Education Digital Content Manager, ostomy care/wound care, will work closely with the Global Medical Education Digital Platform Manager and Medical Education / Clinical leads to ensure there is engaging, innovative, high-quality and evidence-based education content for a wide range of healthcare professionals. The role will work with and manage agency partners for content creation, as well as use in-house content creation tools to develop digital learning content, such as e-learning modules and interactive videos. The role will also work with internal and external clinical specialists, who will provide the necessary subject matter expertise and guidance in content creation. In addition, the Global Medical Education Digital Content Manager, OC, will oversee the administration of the ostomy digital content within the Learning Management System on which the platform is built. A background in digital education (preferably medical or scientific) content development and editing, and digital learning technologies or platforms is required.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy & Content Development
- Execute the business unit (ostomy/wound care/) content strategy for Convatec’s digital medical education platform, as developed by the medical education content task force
- Provide updates to the medical education content task force on content performance and metrics, to drive improvements in future content strategy.
- Stay ahead of digital learning trends, ensuring innovative and effective content delivery, and advising stakeholders within the company on best practices.
Digital Medical Education Content Development and Management
- Transforms global educational content received from business education leads for the digital medical education platform, both using in-house content creation tools and by working with agency partners
- Adapts existing educational content into appropriate formats for the digital platform, as well as creating new content, including short, bite-sized and interactive education.
- Ensures clinical and educational impact, excellent user experience, accessibility and compliance of educational content.
- Collaborates with medical education leads and marketing to ensure that educational content meets clinical and business strategy.
- Oversees the required internal Medical, Regulatory and Legal review of content and any required amendments.
- Collaborates with the Digital Medical Education Platform Manager to ensure that content and the front page of the platform are regularly updated and stay exciting.
- Oversee the administration of the digital education content within the Learning Management System, including uploading, tagging and testing content.
- Communicates development and availability of digital education content to relevant stakeholders.
- Consider other digital technologies such as AI, AR/VR solutions within the digital educational offering.
- Support regional/local medical education leads in the development of local digital medical education content, by providing guidance and expertise.
- Perform routine market surveillance to ensure a differentiated educational offer while identifying new technologies or formats to include.
Training and documentation
- Act as the internal expert in the LMS content creation tool (Absorb-Create) and provides necessary training to in-market Medical Education and Clinical employees who will develop digital content within a local market.
- Contribute to any required documentation on the LMS content creation tool, such as the Admin Handbook.
Data-Driven Performance Optimization
- Use data insights to continuously improve content effectiveness and user engagement.
- Communicate metrics / KPIs from the LMS dashboard to drive the most effective educational content creation strategies within the business.
Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Medical Education/Clinical Specialists and the Global Medical Education Digital Platform Manager, to ensure execution of KOL engagement strategies for digital education, including expert-led sessions and case-based.
- Partner with the Medical Education/Clinical Specialists to foster relationships with societies and academic institutions to enhance content credibility, working with the Global Medical Education Digital Platform Manager to ensure these strategies can be executed via the platform.
Budget Management
- Manage budget and vendor contracts for digital education content creation
Required standards
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards (e.g., FDA, EU MDR, AdvaMed, MedTech Europe), including ensuring that content published has been through the required internal Medical, Regulatory and Legal review process.
- Ensure content meets required accessibility standards
- Ensure content meet Convatec’s branding guidelines
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital content development, preferably within clinical or medical fields.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience specifically in digital education content development, with a good understanding of learning technologies and pedagogical / instructional design principles.
- Experience of Learning Management Systems or Content Management Systems.
- Strong editing and writing skills.

Qualifications/Education:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Education, or related field.
Dimensions:
Team: The position reports to the Medical Education Platform lead, managed by the Sr. Medical Affairs Director, Ostomy. The role is part of the global medical and clinical affairs team (MACA) led by the Chief Medical Officer.
Principal Contacts & Purpose of Contact
Internal –
- Global Medical Education Manager Ostomy- who creates the education strategy for the business unit, coordinates creation of education to support commercial strategy and create and collect educational materials produced by respective regional and global teams. This team member provides new source materials for content development on the platform while informing the strategic direction needed for content creation.
- Director Evidence Evaluation & Communication- to identify upcoming publication, scientific poster and infographics which may be appropriate for development of platform content.
- Global Director Evidence Strategy- to identify completed clinical trials and the interpretation of their results for use to create digital education resources.
- Global Director Clinical Marketing- to ensure alignment of education strategy with business strategy
- Marketing Center of Excellence- to ensure appropriate branding, reporting of data analytics to drive lead generation and CRM lead based campaigns
- Customer/User Experience- to ensure functionality of the platform and associated content for exceptional appearance, form and function for the user.
External –
- 3rd party content vendors- ensure content created meets quality standards and represents a differentiated offering for the platform. Manage timelines, budget and upload of all vendor created assets.
Travel Requirements
Up to 10% international travel is expected and will be managed by the employee, except when required by the Sr Medical Affairs Director.

Working Conditions
Remote working position with infrequent trips to Boston office.
