Position Overview:
Do you love building ⚙️ products people love? As a Jr. Site Reliability Engineer, you will "make things scale" which includes writing IaC to standardize infrastructure, supporting Cloud infrastructure, developing utilities that provide insights/metrics, and providing support for the Horizon team.
As a member of our Engineering Team, you will have the chance to collaborate on exciting projects and find creative solutions to coding obstacles. Location: This role offers 100% remote flexibility anywhere in Ireland.

What you will be working on:
- Managing Container Orchestration Platforms – AKS, EKS, ECS, Cloud Run, etc
- Creating and supporting Cloud Database Services – RDS, Azure Managed Instances
- Writing IaC for the above to support multiple environments
- Supporting containerized applications and troubleshooting errors
- Continuous delivery using tools such as GitHub actions, Docker, Kubernetes
- Observability, capacity planning, system and service performance analysis and tuning
- All three major Cloud Providers: AWS, Azure, GCP
Technologies 💻 you may work with:
- Configuration management: Terraform, Ansible, git
- Cloud SQL Databases: Azure Managed Instances, RDS
- Containerization and virtualization technologies: Docker Enterprise, Kubernetes
- Metrics and monitoring: statsd, ELK, PagerDuty, Slack chatops
- General Microservice / Application troubleshooting: Reading logs, parsing errors
What you bring to the role:
- 1-2 years of universally available or high-volume site reliability engineering or systems administration. Note: ‘years of experience’ may not always be the best measure for your ability to succeed in this role. If the bullet points below feel like you, please consider applying – even if you do not have, say, X years in seat.
- 1+ years of infrastructure automation, configuration management or container orchestration.
- Proficient with one or more languages for scripting (Python, Java, JS, or Bash) and GIT.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field (preferred, but not necessary).
- Periodic participation in an after-hours on-call rotation supporting production environments 24x7.
- Ability to self-manage and work independently.
- Collaborating with clients in working sessions.
