POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of ANZ is a highly entrepreneurial individual with drive and passion and is seen as a thought leader developing vital relationships that lead to sustainable growth of the markets.
The incumbent is accountable for defining and implementing the strategic growth plan for Australia and New Zealand with clear short-term, and mid-long-term goals. This collaborative leader engages with stakeholders including the Regional Advisory Board, volunteers, partners, and others to meaningfully engage the communities and audiences to drive the business events industry.
This position will build PCMA’s brand by identifying key audience needs, and seek to meet those desired outcomes by adapting, as necessary, PCMA’s content and engagement assets developed both regionally and globally. This role will operationalize engagement programmes like events, training, etc. including speaker curation, venue sourcing etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- The incumbent has the overall responsibility of achieving established revenue targets and key audience engagement objectives for the ANZ markets.
- This dynamic, outcome-focused individual will work with existing clients to ensure growth and increased business, while focusing on prospecting, pipeline development and growing the market, and developing new business categories.
- Advance growth and engagement plan for priority audiences in the markets to support the realisation of PCMA’s vision and business objectives.
- Collaborate with the APAC regional team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Lead the development and execution of acquisition and engagement strategies that attract, engage, and retain members and partners; and that is consistent with PCMA’s brand and strategic plan.
- Engage the Regional Advisory Board members based in ANZ and develop volunteer opportunities to engage the wider community and membership, by inspiring them to help PCMA grow and expand the markets.
- Monitor trends and competitor actions on current strategy, and business focus, and develop actionable insights for sharing with PCMA APAC to influence the wider regional strategy.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Represent PCMA in a professional manner in all areas of responsibilities, both with internal and external clients.

Qualifications

- Produce winning strategies for new opportunities including innovative solutions to meet customer-centric, current, and future needs.
- Highly driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to work independently and develop a presence in the markets.
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders in the local markets, region and around the globe.
- Effective prioritization and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to analyse and manage financial reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven track record in setting strategic direction, business development, audience, and stakeholder engagement across the ANZ markets.
- A savvy and highly respected professional, who understands how to build networks, and client relationships. Experience engaging in partnerships with leaders across a variety of sectors and industries is highly preferred.
- Hands on, experienced leader who can help develop team members.
- Business insight and knowledge of the business event industry – audiences, industry sectors, key data points – and desire to develop knowledge and talents necessary to transform the industry and our business, is a bonus. Relevant experience in parallel industries will be considered.
- Strong computer literacy and experience in utilizing CRM to develop and manage pipelines and opportunities. Strong learning skills to acquire a working knowledge of relevant software applications required for the business.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with a proven track record in commercial performance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel by air or ground transportation as required in performing the work.
