Transforming the face of healthcare…

Author Health is a telehealth company, and we are deeply integrated with changing the landscape with behavioral healthcare. Through our model, patients and their caregivers are given an avenue to reconnect with healthcare providers and receive personalized and comprehensive treatment within their communities, and outside of hospitals and institutions. We fill a need for a population that is not able to connect to quality providers.

Our Mission is to reimagine and deliver a fully-integrated, community-based healthcare ecosystem that improves quality of life and experience for patients, caregivers, and clinicians.

Utilizing technology and community engagement, the company aims to improve health and wellness nationally. With experienced leadership and a scalable model, Author Health is poised for significant growth, driven by a mission to improve lives. The company values diversity, inclusion, creativity, collaboration, and mutual learning in its team and for its members.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to support our Engagement Strategy Operations team. This internship is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on high-impact initiatives that directly inform how we define and improve patient engagement, as well as support our hiring strategy for Facilitated Telehealth Coordinators (FTCs).

As an intern, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operations, and data teams, conduct research and analysis, and help drive operational improvements. This role is perfect for someone interested in healthcare strategy, operations, analytics, and workforce planning.

  • Develop methods for tracking and monitoring engagement metrics, including dashboards and visualizations.
  • Support implementation of workflow changes that promote sustained engagement.
  • Identify and characterize patient drop-off points through data analysis and qualitative interviews with patients.

2. Build a Hiring Model and Efficiency OKRs for our Facilitated Telehealth Coordinators (FTCs) Team

  • Assist in developing and refining OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to measure FTC efficiency.
  • Create a dashboard or workbook that outputs current and projected hiring needs based on operational demand.
  • Collaborate with data and operations teams to build a predictive hiring model indicating when and where new FTCs are needed.

Who You Are:

  • A current undergraduate or graduate student with coursework in business, public health, healthcare management, economics, operations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using Excel and/or data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or other analytics/dashboard tools is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable conducting stakeholder interviews and synthesizing findings.
  • Comfortable with Google Suite
  • Curious, collaborative, and excited to work in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Exposure to healthcare operations and strategy in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects that impact patient care and operational excellence.
  • Mentorship and collaboration with leaders across strategy, operations, and clinical teams.
  • Development of tangible deliverables such as dashboards, hiring models, and engagement reports.
