Job Summary

Position can be in the Albuquerque, NM location or can be remote.

Century Automotive Service Corporation, a MAPFRE USA Company, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a leading provider of extended warranty programs and ancillary finance and insurance products. Century currently markets its products through specialized F&I (Finance & Insurance) Agencies that have relationships with car dealerships around the United States.

  • This position is responsible for reviewing and evaluating risks related to a client's book of business, including, but not limited to establishing and implementation of rates or other charges, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Competitor research and analysis to include in the development of rates and new programs.
  • Communicate effectively with other business units of the company to ensure successful implementation of new or revised programs.
  • Additional responsibilities related to client management and client services, as well as others, may be assigned on a need basis.
  • Vehicle Service Contract experience highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience:2 - 4 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 4 - 6 years.
Knowledge: Complete understanding and knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work. Applies them to perform or lead work requiring extensive analytical business skills.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Supervisory responsibilities and management of Risk department
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of issues regarding market conditions for related products and services.
  • Manage and oversee:gathering and compilation of information required to model, quote, or analyze accounts, the obtaining and maintenance of historical data, manage and oversee the development of forecasting models.
  • Manage and assist in the rating and pricing of new products and/or modifications to existing dealer product line portfolios, the production of sound actuarial data to support and/or to decline proposed rating or pricing structures for new and existing programs.
  • Help strengthen the organizations business intelligence for sound decision making.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization. Ensure proper data analytics are in place to effectively assist with the management of under-performing product lines and/or producers. Collaborate on the development and implementation of actuarial pricing models on a global basis.
  • Conducts quarterly reviews and analysis resulting in appropriate issues identification and recommendations to resolve underwriting issues.
  • Understands functionality of all underwriting systems (automated or manual).
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of technical underwriting principles and risk underwriting characteristics.
  • Understands and uses policy form structure, products and coverage and filing status effectively.
  • Participates and leads underwriting and/or company projects as assigned.
