We are seeking a Customer Segmentation Specialist to join our data-driven marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing customer data to identify distinct customer segments, develop insights, and deliver actionable strategies that drive targeted marketing campaigns. You will use advanced analytics, data mining, and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns in customer behavior, preferences, and demographics to enhance customer acquisition, retention, and overall business growth.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, experienced with data segmentation tools and techniques, and able to communicate insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring that marketing efforts are highly personalized and targeted to the right audience segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Segmentation & Analysis:

    • Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful customer segments based on behavioral, demographic, psychographic, and transactional data.

    • Use statistical and machine learning methods to create customer profiles and segmentation models that allow for more effective marketing targeting.

    • Continuously refine customer segmentation strategies to align with changing market conditions, customer preferences, and business goals.

  • Data Collection & Integration:

    • Collect and clean data from various sources, including CRM systems, web analytics, transaction history, and social media platforms.

    • Integrate multiple datasets to build comprehensive customer profiles for analysis.

    • Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure data is clean, structured, and ready for analysis.

  • Market & Consumer Behavior Insights:

    • Provide insights into customer behavior, preferences, and trends to guide marketing strategy and product development.

    • Conduct customer surveys, interviews, and focus groups to validate segmentation strategies and uncover new insights.

    • Create detailed reports and dashboards to communicate customer insights and segment performance to key stakeholders.

  • Segmentation Model Development & Maintenance:

    • Develop segmentation models using clustering, classification, and regression techniques (e.g., K-means clustering, decision trees, or latent class analysis).

    • Use predictive analytics to forecast customer behavior and identify opportunities for personalization and optimization.

    • Regularly review and update segmentation models to ensure they remain accurate and relevant.

  • Collaboration with Marketing Teams:

    • Work closely with the marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure segmentation strategies align with business objectives and drive targeted campaigns.

    • Provide recommendations on customer-centric marketing strategies, such as personalized content, offers, and promotions for different customer segments.

    • Assist in the design and execution of A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies across different segments.

  • Campaign Optimization & Reporting:

    • Monitor the performance of marketing campaigns targeting specific segments, using KPIs like conversion rates, customer lifetime value, and churn rates.

    • Recommend adjustments to campaigns based on performance data, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to high-value segments.

    • Provide post-campaign analysis and detailed reports on segment-level performance to guide future marketing decisions.

  • Continuous Improvement & Learning:

    • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in customer segmentation and analytics.

    • Identify opportunities to incorporate new data sources, segmentation techniques, and tools into the analysis process.

    • Regularly assess and refine segmentation strategies to improve marketing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in customer segmentation, data analysis, or a similar role in marketing or data-driven environments.

    • Strong experience with segmentation techniques, including clustering, classification, and predictive analytics.

    • Hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Python, R, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

    • Experience with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, and customer data integration (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics).

    • Familiarity with advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms used in segmentation analysis.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation, modeling, and visualization.

    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate insights effectively.

    • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras) for building predictive models is a plus.

    • Strong understanding of data mining techniques, statistical analysis, and forecasting methods.

  • Analytical Skills:

    • Excellent quantitative analysis skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to identify key trends, patterns, and correlations in large datasets.

    • Ability to generate business insights from data and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data-driven concepts to a diverse audience.

    • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and product teams to implement segmentation strategies.

    • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with advanced machine learning algorithms for segmentation, including deep learning models or natural language processing (NLP).

  • Knowledge of customer behavior models, predictive analytics, and customer lifetime value (CLV) models.

  • Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

  • Experience with campaign management and optimization in a digital marketing context.

  • Familiarity with customer journey mapping and omnichannel marketing strategies.
