This role is responsible for driving business growth in the services offered through the JM Shipping Solution. This position will build relationships with clients and partners, and develop strategies to drive incremental top line growth, and work to identify process and product efficiencies to ensure the long-term profitability of the JM Shipping Solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Accountable for driving top-line business results to achieve and exceed Key Performance Indicators (new business conversion rate, retention, profitability) for JM’s SaaS offering.
  • Actively seeks new business leads, new markets, and potential partnerships
  • Build, nurture, and manage key client relationships through effective communication and trust building. Ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention.
  • Prepare and present proposals and presentations to potential clients.
  • Conduct market research to understand market trends, competitor strategies (including products and pricing), potential opportunities and revisions to existing product(s) to achieve objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients, partners, agencies and internal stakeholders, including product, marketing, underwriting, and sales, to understand market requirements, define target market segments, and aid in the development of key sales and marketing strategies.
  • Assist leadership with the development of annual and long-term department business plans, budget, and revenue projections.
  • Prepare status reports on goals and keep management apprised of business development, account activity and product performance results.
  • Take ownership of assigned work and establishes and executes account specific plans.
  • Visit accounts to onboard new clients and work with key decision makers, influencers and executives on a regular basis to maintain strong relationships and identify necessary account changes and opportunities as quickly as possible.
  • Attend trade shows, networking events and visit key accounts
  • Responsible for training, development, and management of sales team members
  • Create a culture of engagement philosophy that results in a positive customer experience
  • Provide thought leadership and critical thinking across business units and external partner and vendors.
  • Serve as the product expert supporting corporate actions and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Must have previously demonstrated success in a sales role, preferably within the SaaS industry
  • Strong understanding of software products and services business models and market trends
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate the value of our solution to diverse audiences

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in SaaS or Logistics; an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years of people leadership experience
  • Salesforce experience preferred

Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Visio. Ability to use/learn the Company’s policy and claims admin computer systems.
